"i just stumbled on your art on inprnt and i am so very charmed!! The witches and familiars are so lovely (I'm decided on an art card to buy, currently leaning towards owl witch-alchemist). Have you considered collecting those drawings-- the witches and familiars-- into a deck and selling it? Sort of like tarot or oracle cards, but just those images. Your art is so lovely and I would definitely be interested if you ever did!" (more…)

"in regards to ur relatibility =/= empathy post, I'm a little confused. on the one hand, it's saying the protagonist doesn't need to be white to be understood by white readers (which I agree with). but on the other, it's criticising the publishing houses that only approve white characters. but if the character doesn't need to be an Avatar for the reader, then does representation matter at all? and if it doesn't, then what's the problem with the majority of western fiction having white protags?" "Hey, I thought I would share this TCM headcanon with you. Remember that scene when Zeynel is getting ready to show carpets to the 2 French nobles and you show Ayse in the mirror instead of Zeynel’s reflection? I like to imagine that he can somehow summon an image of her in mirrors at will. That way he can be encouraged by seeing her." (more…)

"A couple of classic questions, because I actually don't know the answers: what's your favorite color? Favorite animal? Favorite food? Favorite movie? Favorite book (a hard one, I know) And, one more to round it off: do you have a memory or an experience that you reflect on while writing/drawing often (can be twice, 5x, always)? Something that reminds you to keep going on doing? If not, what is it that motivates you to do these actions? Have fun answering :)" (more…)

"( can I ask a question about your Alexander comic? feel free to ignore this of course!) For me, he was barely on my radar until that one recent (YA?) book got popular in fandom; we definitely didn't spend much time on him in school. IME he's a vague jumble of anecdotes (Gordian knot,Elephants, Weeping at the edge of his empire), and it sounds like you've been exposed to him a lot more, so I'm curious when & how you first sort of encountered the whole Alexander mythos?"
