Mar112016: Science Geeking Out

“oh my gosh! sorry, but i really like your art, and also it’s really cool to see another artist who still loves the crap out of science like myself! I never understood why people act like you can’t be good at both… anyways, you’re awsome! hope you have a nice day!”

It’s cool! I really really really love science (you all have no idea…outside of it being an institution (e.g having to pass an exam) I love science as a knowledge field. It’s not just theories and models and facts – it’s so chock full of history and philosophy and culture and interesting characters. I don’t get why people say art and science should be separate fields either – more often than not they bleed into each other, as evidenced throughout its history (my favourite example is Da Vinci). Separating these two, which is a RECENT thing – the problem of departmentalisation, compartmentalisation, focused specialisation, whatever you want to call it – robs us of complexity and further understanding of the world at large.
